Competition

• Companies may enter a maximum of two teams.

 
Teams

• Each team shall name a contact person.
• The contact person is responsible for all communication with regards to the team.
• Each team is represented by two players in a match.
• Each team can be represented by up to 12 different players.
• A player may not represent more than one team.
• Players must provide proof of a current EGA handicap prior to each match.

 
Format

• The format of the matches is fourball matchplay, with ¾ handicap allowance.
• The matches will be played over 9 holes in the group stage (2 matches per evening) and 18 holes in the knockout (cup) rounds.

 
Rules

• The competition will be played in accordance to the R&A Rules of Golf.
• Team members must be registered with Tyrifjord Golfklubb 24 hours prior to each match.
• Failure register by the registration deadline will result in loss of the match.
• If a team forfeits a match all matches involving the team will be declared null and void.
• If there are less than 32 teams entered Tyrifjord Golfklubb may alter the format.
• Any disputes will be decided by Tyrifjord Golfklubb.

 
Entry fee
The entry fee  includes the following:
 
 Group stage

• green fees at Tyrifjord Golfklubb
• drinks and food prior to each match

  Knockout (cup) stage

• green fees at Tyrifjord Golfklubb
• drinks and food prior to each match

 Final

• hotel, bed & breakfast
• airfares (participants are responsible for own baggage costs)
• airport transfers

Group stage

• The group stage shall comprise of 32 teams.
• The matches are played at Tyrifjord Golfklubb on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the first match shall commence at 16:00.
• The 32 teams are drawn into eight groups of four and teams from the same company cannot be drawn in the same group.
• Each team plays one home and one away match against each other team in its group. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for a tied match, and no points for a defeat. The following match sequence applies:

• There are 2 matches per evening with matches 1, 3 and 5 being played on holes 1-9 and matches 2, 4, and 6 played on holes 10-18.

• If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings:
  1. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played between the teams in question
  2. superior holes up from the results of the group matches played between the teams in question
• The eight group-winners and eight runners-up of the group stage qualify for the first knockout (cup) round.

 
Knockout (cup) stage

• Matches are played over 18 holes under the cup (knock-out) system.
• The knock-out round pairings are determined by means of a draw.
• A tied match in the knockout rounds will be decided by a sudden death play-off.

 
First knockout stage

• The first knockout stage consists of 16 teams
• Teams from the same company cannot be drawn against each other.
• The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against each other.
• The group-winners cannot be drawn against each other.

 
Quarter-finals

• The eight winners of the first knockout stage contest the quarter-finals.

 
Semi-finals

• The four winners of the quarter-finals contest the semi-finals.

 
Final

• The two winners of the semi-finals will contest the final.
